Privacy Policy — Sidecar Clipper

Last updated: 31 August 2026

Summary

Sidecar Clipper does not collect, store, transmit, or share anything you clip. All conversion happens locally in your browser. The only information that ever leaves your device is a small, non-identifying record sent if you uninstall the extension, described in full below.

What the extension does

When you select text or click the extension, the chosen page content is converted to Markdown and written to your clipboard. That content is never sent to any server. The developer has no access to anything you convert, and no record of it is kept anywhere.

While the extension is running

No analytics, no telemetry, no tracking. The extension makes no network requests while running. It does not record what you clip, which sites you visit, or anything about you.

No accounts. The extension does not ask for or use any login.

If you uninstall the extension

When you remove Sidecar Clipper, Chrome opens a short feedback page. Opening that page sends the following to a server operated by the developer:

That is all. It does not include any identifier, any account, anything you clipped, or any site you visited. There is no way to link this record to you or to any other record.

The feedback page itself asks one optional multiple-choice question and offers an optional free-text box. It requires no email address, no account, and no personal details. You can close the page without answering, and nothing further is sent.

This information is stored in a database operated by the developer, hosted with Supabase in Sydney, Australia. It is used only to understand why people stop using the extension.

Local storage

The extension stores two values in your browser's local extension storage: the date it was installed, and whether you have ever completed a clip. These are used only to populate the uninstall feedback above. They never leave your device except as described in that section.

Permissions

The extension does not request access to your browsing history, your identity, or any site you don't explicitly click it on.

Changes

Any change to this policy will be published at this address, with the date above updated.
